About Us
The Castleford District Parks Partnership Limited (CDPP Ltd) is an Incorporated Company Limited by Guarantee, not for profit company based in Castleford, West Yorkshire. Our aim is to make a difference to the lives of people living in Castleford, the Five Towns District, and other Districts within the Wakefield Metropolitan Region. This to be achieved through the use of arts, events, and education and forward looking new and ground breaking developments within local communities, parks and openspaces. We aim to use local parks, and openspaces as a tool to inform, enable, enthuse and empower all those who visit our local parks and open spaces, and to improve the environment within the local communities, parks, and openspaces by providing cost effective, efficient services.
This summary articulates the CDPP Ltd’s vision and translates that vision into a series of short, medium and long-term objectives. In describing the company we assume the CDPP Ltd will continue to grow in strength and size alongside the professional development of the CDPP Ltd.
A number of targets have been explicitly identified. Over a 5 year period (April 2006 to March 2011). There will be, for example:
10,000 people overall benefiting
100 people trained, with 75 gaining qualifications.
50 beneficiaries accessing jobs as a direct result of the company.
7 jobs created directly.
Through Partnership with The Wakefield Metropolitan District Council procure
the service of maintenance, repair, and upkeep of several local parks and
openspaces.
12 community groups supported with information/publicity campaigns, and financial
incentive to encourage and support innovative local projects.
The wider impact of the company will be:
Create cleaner, safer, and better maintained parks and openspaces.
A growth in the local community’s confidence in visiting local parks.
Improvement in communication flows, both within the community and
between the community and external agencies, statutory or otherwise.
By increasing sporting opportunities, create greater social interaction.
This company will give a greater opportunity for promoting and understanding other
peoples cultural differences and points of view.
Through information and technology and other courses we aim to empower local
residents presenting them with the opportunity to develop new skills.
Providing social guidelines by setting a good example for others to follow.
There will be a definite health benefit to those using local parks.
Improve the quality of life for people living in Castleford, the Five Towns District, and
other Districts within the Wakefield Metropolitan Region.
